Seven-stringed guitars have almost become standard among the metal guitarists, almost entirely replacing the six-stringers. This is owed to the fact that more and more sub-genres and performers are heavily down-tuning their guitars and basses, to reach a fuller, bassier tone. It will not be a surprise if eight-stringers take over in a decade, or two. For now, seven stringers rule the scene and Schecter`s included quite a few sevens in the new 2014 issue of the catalog. Damien Elite 7 FR is one of them. It comes with a solid and double-cut C-7 body made of mahogany base and flamed maple top. On the top, the Floyd Rose bridge replaces the standard string-through hardtail bridge, though the EMG 81-7 and 85-7 remain on this one (81-7 and 85-7 are featured on the regular Damien Elite 7 on which this model is based). Standard controls unit is also featured on this model. Maple neck is bolted to the body and features the standard C contour in the back. On it`s top, there`s a regular 24-fret fingerboard made of rosewood. Schecter`s locking tuners wrap the specs list for this model.
