On the first sight, this might look like a regular Synyster Custom model, but it isn`t. It is a new model for 2012 and it has a Sustainiac humbucker in the neck position. It has a similar function like Fernandes Sustainer, and Schecter calls it Sustainiac. Other than that, Synyster Gates Custom-S is a solid bodied, double cutaway metal axe with a double cutaway body made of mahogany. The top is carved and bound in black. This one is available in a very recognizable Synyster gates color scheme of black with silver pinstripes. The neck is made of three pieces of mahogany and features slim profile with ultra access cutaway and contoured heel, a feature reserved for the upscale models of the Schecter catalog. Upon this neck, there is an ebony-made fingerboard with 24 extra jumbo frets and custom Syn inlays with death bat at the 12th fret. The scale is standard 25-1/2" long and tuners are Grover. The bridge on this Synyster model is a Floyd Rose 1000 series bridge with a locking nut at the opposite side of the scale. It is painted black. The pickup combo is Seymour Duncan Invader humbucker in the bridge and Seymour Duncan Sustainiac in the neck. Controls are made up of master volume, master tone, three-way toggle switch, Sustainiac on/off mini toggle and normal/mix/harmonic mini toggle for the Sustainiac pickup.
