Paul Stanley and Washburn Guitars have a long lasting and very successful cooperation which resulted in many great signature models thus far. For 2012 the series is updated with brand new models. One of them is PS 2012 Starfire, a solid bodied, single cutaway guitar with mahogany body. Body`s center is raised for increased tonal performance. This single cut guitar features no binding around the top or back. The pickguard built onto the lower horn is mirrored and features a starfire emblem. PS 2012 Starfire is available in black and white color options, both with gloss finish. The bridge is a Tonepros tune-o-matic with a trapezoid tailpiece. The aluminum tailpiece is custom made for Paul Stanley models and features elaborate ornamentation. In the pickup compartment, Seymour Duncan provides two SM-3 mini humbuckers. They are controlled through a setup of split volume and tone control knobs in conjunction with a three-way toggle switch. The neck on this model is made of mahogany and features a set-in joint. The fingerboard is made of bound ebony and is equipped with 22 jumbo frets, split pearl and abalone block inlays, Graphtech nut and 14" radius. 24-3/4" scale and Grover tuners complete the specs list.
