Washburn is turning back to metal again with their new sub-brand named Parallaxe Guitars. This new brand of instruments is advertised as the ultimate shred and metal line of guitars. It`s initial lineup is made up of three series: PXM, PXS and PXL. PXM Series is made up of five double-cut guitars with solid bodies, 24-fret fingerboards and mighty humbucking pickups. Players are offered EMG 81/85 and Seymour Duncan TB6/Jazz combos on the models of the PXM series. The first model of the PXM line is the PXM20EF. It is a solid, double-cut guitar with body made of alder back and flame maple top. Top is carved and it features Spartan styling. There`s no binding, nor other decorations. Matte finish is applied on both the body and neck. Hardware on this vicious metal axe is black. Bridge section features the lone tune-o-matic bridge with string-through construction. Pickups in it`s front are EMG 81 in the bridge and 85 in the neck position. Master volume, master tone and a three-way toggle pickup switch comprise the controls unit.Set in maple neck sports the standard back contour. It is topped with a 24-fret ebony fingerboard. Frets are super jumbo-sized and have a custom Parallaxe inlay on the 12th fret. Tuners on the headstock are Grovers. All Parallaxe models, including this one, feature Buzz Feiten tuning system.
