In recent years, Washburn has developed a proper metal guitar series, named Parallaxe. The aim of the series is to establish new standards of quality and playability, and reinvent the shred guitar. Thus far, the series` mission is going just fine, and the PXM280ADWA is the proof. This eight-string giant comes with a solid, double-cut body made entirely of basswood (a quite common feature in the eight-string class), with a five-piece maple/walnut neck attached to it. Hardtail bridge with eight saddles is a string-through-body type, while the Duncan Designed humbuckers in the front are active. master volume, master tone and the standard 3-way switch comprise the controls. Maple/walnut neck is topped with a series-standard 24-fret fingerboard made of ebony.
