Among 13 novelties, electric guitar signatures take the spotlight with eleven models. One Stephen Thundercat Bruner six-string bass and one John Scofield semi-hollow complete the roster.
At every major manufacturer`s booth at this year`s NAMM, one of the most notable things was the reduced number of signature models. Ibanez was no exception in this regard, introducing a total of 13 signatures – eleven in the electric guitar sector, one bass, and one hollow body model. Even though the spotlights were on Ibanez`s veteran signature artists, It was surprising and heart-warming to see several new and fairly unknown names on the roster. First off, there were two brand new Steve Vai models – JEMJRSP and JEMJRL. Two Junior-class models, introduced on the budget-friendly end of the JEM line. Joe Satriani`s limited edition JS1CR30 was the only JS series update this time. It is a true shred beast, with price tag set around $5,000. Next, Paul Stanley`s PS1DM and PS60 were an odd couple, with the former being the most expensive Ibanez this year and the latter being among Mr. Stanley`s most affordable signatures. FRM200 model updated Paul Gilbert`s Fireman series with a unique set of features. Kiko Loureiro of Angra and Megadeth fame also got one new model – the mighty KIKO200 loaded with Kiko`s own signature (DiMarzio) pickups. JBBM20 is JB Brubaker`s new signature model. Basically, an RG Standard axe with EMG pickups. Chris Miller`s line was expanded with CMM3, a simple, bare-bones rocker based on the Road Core series concept. The electric guitar section was completed with MM1 made for Martin Miller and TQM1 made for Tom Quayle. Both Martin and Tom are up and coming musicians coming from the online realm. The affordable John Scofield JSM20 semi-hollow and Stephen Thundercat Bruner`s TCB1006 six-string bass round off the Ibanez signatures lineup introduced at this year`s NAMM.

Ibanez FRM200 is the newest signature model made for Paul Gilbert, the man who invented the famous drill picking “technique”.
