Alvarez`s Regent series offers a line of beginner guitars, both steel and nylon-stringed. They come in acoustic and acoustic-electric variants, as well as in right and left-handed options (not every Regent model has the left-hand option). There are two basic tiers, 26 (mahogany/spruce bodies) and 27 (rosewood/spruce bodies), with 27 being slightly more expensive. RF27 is the fully acoustic folk model of the 27 tier. Its MSRP is set at $359 and it is available only in Natural (w/combined gloss/satin finish, white binding, black pickguard, double-circle rosette). Alvarez offers no optional electronics for this model. Other notable features include a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard (small dot inlays, 1-11/16" PPS nut), rosewood bridge (Alvarez contour), and scalloped X bracing.
