AC50 is the top model in Carvin`s acoustic-electric bass series. It comes with a double cutaway body made of mahogany back and sides with solid Engelmann spruce top. There are other, alternative top wood options available for this model. AC50 also features neck-through-body construction, which makes this bass an actual semi-hollow bodied instrument. In the bridge section, there is an ebony bridge equipped with TUSQ saddle and belly shape. Electronics department comes equipped with L.R. Baggs ribbon acoustic transducer. It is controlled through a basic set of volume, bass and treble knobs mounted on the top. Neck is made of mahogany and it features through-body construction. It is primarily topped with a 24-fret ebony fingerboard, though Carvin offers a wide variety of fingerboards. Fretless ones are also available.
