De Luxe Classic is one of five models in the newly established Masterbilt Century series, made by Epiphone. Masterbilt Century line is a shot at revival of the original 1930s archtop guitar, but with a 21st century twist - modern electronics which the originals didn`t have. De Luxe Classic is one of two full-sized models, comes with a non-cutaway body (they all do) and 14th fret neck joint. Like its twin, De Luxe, De Luxe Classic can be obtained in two options - Vintage Natural and Vintage Sunburst (aged gloss finish, aged nickel hardware, pearloid decorations). De Luxe Classic costs $899. De Luxe Classic is a full-sized archtop guitar, with 25-1/2" scale, dual "f" holes instead of the classic, circular sound hole and longitudinal bracing. Back and sides are made of laminated flamed maple, while the top is made of solid spruce. The neck is attached at the 14th fret and is made of five pieces of hard maple and mahogany. On top of the neck, Epiphone installs a 20-fret fingerboard. It`s made of ebony and rocks standard features (diamond inlays, medium frets and bone nut). Shadow NanoFlex pickup and eSonic HD preamp form the electronics unit. Other major features include a floating ebony bridge, vintage Epiphone tuners and dual-action truss rod.
