Classic is the most expensive of three tiers constituting the new Fender California series. All of its three models (Redondo, Malibu, Newporter) cost $799.99, with Specials fetching $699.99 and Player models $399.99. Newporter Classic is an acoustic-electric steel-string with a single-cut body, glued-in neck, Fishman/Fender electronics, and Fender hardware. The color palette is a standard one for all Classic models, it contains Hot Rod Red Metallic and Cosmic Turquoise options (w/gloss finish, painted headstocks, chrome hardware, wooden rosettes, creme binding). Other notable features include solid mahogany back & sides, solid Sitka spruce top (Classics don`t have pickguards), solid mahogany neck w/14th fret dovetail joint & smooth finish, a 20-fret pau ferro fingerboard, fixed pau ferro bridge, and Fender`s tuners.
