Songwriter series is, as its name says, made with composers and singer/songwriters in mind. It belongs to Gibson Acoustic`s middle range and has been with us since 2003. Despite the relatively short career, Songwriter models have become a staple member of the catalog. Songwriter Studio is a brand new member of the Songwriter family, made in effort to bring the series closer to the working musician. Price tag of $2,749 is not exactly affordable, even by Gibson standards. Nevertheless, Songwriter Studio offers some pretty amazing features. Rosewood/spruce body (with abalone rosette, tortoiseshell pickguard and multi-ply binding) is paired with a mahogany neck (rounded profile, hot hide glue construction, 20-fret fingerboard). Electronics unit includes L.R. Baggs VTC pickup system w/soundhole controls and 1/4" output. Main hardware features include gold-plated Grover tuners and rosewood bridge (w/Tusq saddle).
