X series from Martin Guitars offers a wide range of acoustic and acoustic-electric guitars with laminated wood construction and stripped down styling. This approach was chosen by Martin in order to fit these models into budget-friendly category of the market to compete with affordable Ibanez, Yamaha, Applause, Aria and others. DXMAE Left Handed is one of the numerous dreadnought guitars from this series, it comes with a non-cutaway body made of mahogany and spruce. mahogany is used for the back and side panels, while the top is made of spruce. On the inside Martin installs bracing made of spruce. Neck on this model is made of rust stratabond and it features oval contour in the back. Belly-contoured bridge and 20-fret fingerboard are made of black richlite. Fishman Sonitone system is installed in the electronics department.
