Martin guitars Performing Artist series has a unique position within the catalog, as it is supposed to be the meeting point of two distinct classes of acoustic-electric guitars. Here, up-scale guitars meet affordable price tags. These Martins are built to provide the quality the brand is known for, and at the same time to be as easy on the pocket as possible. For 2012 Frankfurt Musikmesse Martin prepared three brand new rosewood-made Performing Artist models: DCPA 4 Rosewood, GPCPA 4 Rosewood and OMCPA 4 Rosewood. GPCPA 4 Rosewood comes with a grand auditorium cutaway body made of solid Indian rosewood back and sides and solid spruce top. The top on this model is bound in white boltaron binding and adorned with an elegant double-ring rosette. Also, it features a tortoise pickguard. The bridge on this GPCPA is made of black richlite, which is usual for the budget-oriented series within the Martin catalog. It comes with a belly shape, white string pins and TUSQ saddle. In the electronics department, Fishman F1 Analog system takes care of amplification duties. It is equipped with side-mounted controls. The neck is made of select hardwood and it features a Performing Artist contour. satin finish and mortise & tenon joint complete the neck specs. Fingerboard matches the bridge and is also made of black richlite. It sports 20 frets, style 28 corian dot inlays and 1.75" wide corian nut. 25-2/5" scale, chrome hardware and hybrid scalloped X bracing complete the list of specs for this model.
