Performing Artist series in Martin Guitars catalog has a unique position and task. It is supposed to blend high end and affordable features into quality and affordable acoustic-electric guitars. Judging by the number of the models and constant introductions of new variants, Martin hit a jack pot with this series. 2012 brings three brand new models for the line. They are DCPA 4 Rosewood, OMCPA 4 Rosewood and GPCPA 4 Rosewood. OMCPA 4 Rosewood Left Hand comes as a non-cutaway OM model with a body made of solid Indian rosewood back and sides and solid spruce top. The top on this model is adorned with a two-ring rosette and Delmar tortoise pickguard. Also it features white boltaron binding. The neck is made of select hardwood, which is a common series feature. It has a Performing Artist contour and mortise & tenon joint. This neck is topped with a black richlite fingerboard. 20 frets, style 28 corian dot position inlays and 1.75" wide corian nut complete it`s specs. The bridge is also made of black richlite. It features belly shape, white plastic string pins and white TUSQ saddle. Electronics department on this model is made up of Fishman F1 Analog amplification system. It is controlled through a side-mounted control panel. Other features on this model include: 25-2/5" scale, chrome hardware and hybrid scalloped X bracing.
