Performing Artist Series is one of the most important lines in the Martin Guitars catalog, as it offers high quality performance-ready models which cover all areas from around one thousand dollars to well over ten thousand for some exclusive, limited models. This series received the largest number of novelties for 2012, and all of these models were introduced at the NAMM Show this year. One of those is GPCPA 4 Sapele which comes as a grand concert cutaway model with a body made of solid sapele back and sides and solid spruce top. The top is bound in black boltaron and equipped with tortoise shell pickguard and two-ring sound hole rosette. This GPCPA model comes in natural color with gloss finish on the top and satin on the back, sides and neck. The bridge is made of black richlite with performing artist belly shape, white string pins and white TUSQ saddle. In the electronics section Fishman F1 Analog setup is in command. On the side of the body, volume and tone knobs are installed. The neck is made of mahogany with performing artist contour and dovetail joint at the 14 th fret. The fingerboard is made of black richlite and features 20 frets, offside dots and 1-3/4" white corian nut. The MSRP for GPCPA 4 Sapele is set at $1,799.
