For 2012 Peavey brings a brand new Composite series of acoustic-electric guitars with a completely new concept of construction and materials. Composite materials are used in abundance with wood being completely scratched from the picture. Classic shapes and measures have been preserved, but the materials mark the beginning of a new era in the industry. Models of this series were exhibited at the NAMM Show in Anaheim, Ca. GX Narrow Neck comes as a grand auditorium cutaway model with a body made entirely of composite materials. Color option available for this model is carbon burst with gloss finish. There are no bindings or pickguards on this model. The neck is also made of composite materials which makes the truss rod unnecessary. Also, the heel is omitted, as it is not needed to support the neck. Peavey even claims that the neck will never need adjustment. Fingerboard is made of polymer and features 20 medium sized frets with abalone dot inlays. This model comes with a choice between 1.69" and 1.75" string nut. The bridge is also made of composite materials and has black string pins with black saddle. Electroncs department can feature either Fishman® Prefix Plus T or Fishman Aura® pickup/preamp systems. The choice is up to player. Other features include: carbon fiber bracing, 15:1 gear ratio tuners and abalone rosette. On top of this all, this model features a one-piece neck/body construction.
