Peavey`s Composite Acoustics mark the beginning of a new era in guitar making with their composite materials and advanced construction solutions. Some of those include one-piece body/neck construction and all wooden parts being made of composite materials. The X is a hollow-bodied, single cutaway guitar with a one-piece body made of composite materials. X`s body is very thin, and measures just over three inches in depth. It is also very light with a little bit under four pounds. It is available in HG, RT and Raw finishes. There are no bindings or pickguards on this guitar. The bridge is, as on the rest of the Composite Acoustics, made of composite materials and features a set of black string pins with black saddle. For amplification, Peavey chose top quality pickup and preamp with a side-mounted control panel. Equalizer, volume control and tuner can be found as control options. The neck is made of composite materials and is part of the one-piece body/neck construction. The fingerboard on the X is made of composite materials and sports 20 medium sized frets with dot position inlays. Other features on the X include: black hardware, composite bracing and open-gear hipshot tuners.
