Takamine reinforced the G series with seven brand new models, and one of these additions is EG455SC, a NEX cutaway acoustic-electric model. The body of this guitar is made of quilted maple back and sides and solid spruce top. Top and back are bound in multiple layers of abalone and maple with a back center line made of abalone. As for top, the only color option available is natural with gloss finish. Back and sides are painted in walnut burst. Upon the top, there is a tear drop shaped tortoise pickguard and abalone rosette around the sound hole. The bridge on this model is made of rosewood and is equipped with black string pins, belly shape and white plastic saddle. Electronics are provided by Takamine and consist of CP100 under-saddle pickup and Takamine preamp with shoulder-mounted control panel. The panel contains three-band equalizer, gain knob and a chromatic tuner with LED display. The neck is made of mahogany and it features a comfortable contour and a 14th fret joint. The fingerboard is made of rosewood and is equipped with 20 frets and a set of abalone inlays. The MSRP for EG455SC NEX model is set at $859.
