GN10 is one of two novelties introduced into the basic G10 series for 2014. It is a compact-sized guitar with a non-cutaway NEX body made of mahogany back and sides and spruce sound board. Use of the most standard tonewood combination of the lower intermediate class makes it clear what are Takamine`s ambitions with new G10 models. GN10 is available only in natural color with thin satin finish and chrome-plated hardware. Minimal decorations include a black pickguard and multi-ply black/white binding around the top. This modest six-stringer concentrates it`s forces in the performance and value for money fields, instead of flashy looks with flamboyant color schemes. Simple belly-shaped bridge on the top is made of rosewood and features plastic saddle, as well as plastic string pins. GN10 is a fully acoustic guitar and features no preamp, nor a pickup. Mahogany-made neck is a standard one, commonly seen among the low-positioned G Series models. It is attached to the body at the 14th fret and is topped with a series standard 20-fret fingerboard made of rosewood. Dot inlays and 1-11/16" wide synthetic bone nut complete the fingerboard.
