New Yorker, aka Parlor is a guitar shape that originates from the 19th century, when it was one of the most popular shapes. Then the 20th century came and dreadnought, along with jumbo took over. Recent years show increased interest in Parlors and orchestra models, even though they are significantly smaller than jumbo and dread. This wave of parlor revival is followed by all major manufacturers and Takamine, among them. P3NY is a non-cutaway model from Pro Series 3 line of acoustic-electric guitars. P3NY features scalloped X bracing and sapele/cedar combination of tone woods. Sapele is solid and comprises back and side panels. cedar sound board on top is also solid. Top is decorated with several layers of binding and single circle rosette. Satin finish is applied over the natural color of the wood. Bridge section installed upon the top panel features series standard rosewood bridge with split bone saddle and black string pins. Takamine CT4B II preamp is installed onto the side of the body and it is supported by a Palathetic pickup. African mahogany neck is made with standard back contour and 14th fret dovetail joint. Rosewood-made fingerboard is equipped with 20 frets, white dot inlays and bone string nut. Tuners on this model are plated in gold.
