400 series is a frequent guest in the Limited Editions side of the catalog. The main reason for this is the never ending challenge of upgrading and refining the main work horse series in the catalog, the legendary 400. For the Spring of 2014, Taylor presents the new incarnation of the 400 series. it has five models and 410ce-SLTD is it`s basic model. It is a single-cut dreadnought guitar with back and sides made of solid ovangkol, while the top is made of spruce. White binding is found on the edges of the sound board, while the tortoise shell pickguard and triple circle rosette grace it`s top. Underneath the sound board, Taylor applies the forward shifted bracing pattern, while on the top, the standard ebony bridge is installed. Micarta saddle is on it`s top. Underneath the saddle, there`s the second generation of the Taylor Expression pickup. It is paired with a side-mounted preamp, also made by Taylor. Neck on this model is made of mahogany (tropical mahogany, same material is used for the standard 400 guitars). It`s connected to the body with a dovetail joint and topped with a standard 20-fret ebony fingerboard.
