412ce-SLTD is a part of the brand new Spring 2014 Limited Edition 400 series. This upgraded 400 line features ovangkol back and sides with spruce sound boards on the top. These exclusive 400 steel-stringers are a natural step forward for every gigging musician, as they bring a better tone, more comfort and improved playability. 412ce-SLTD is the series grand concert model (models marked with number 12 in their names are exclusively made with grand concert bodies). It comes with a single cutaway and Taylor`s own electronics (letters c and e next to the series and model number signify this). Ovangkol back and sides are paired up with a solid spruce sound board on the top. Spruce is Taylor`s favorite sound board wood and it even appears on a majority of hollow-bodied electrics made by Taylor. Standard ebony bridge is fit with a micarta saddle and Taylor pickup. On the side of the body, facing the player, Taylor`s preamp with volume and tone controls is installed. Neck on this model (and other 400 SLTD guitars) is made of mahogany. It features the dovetail joint in the back and a 20-fret ebony fingerboard on the top.
