412ce-N-FLTD is a model from the Blackwood 400 series introduced within the Fall 2012 Limited Edition. This series is made up of seven models and the key feature is the use of Tasmanian blackwood for back and side panels of the bodies. Tasmanian blackwood belongs to the same family of woods as Hawaiian koa does, but is far less expensive and exclusive. With a very similar set of basic tonal properties, Tasmanian blackwood gives strong low end and when combined with western red cedar sound board, it results in finger-picker`s paradise. Plus, this particular model comes with a set of nylon strings. Top panel on 412ce is equipped with rock maple binding and simple rosette around the sound hole. Pickguard is left out of the specs list. Bridge section is slightly modified, as it features no string pins. It is still made of ebony and equipped with a TUSQ saddle. Electronics section has Taylor Expression System installed. It is the version for nylon-stringed guitars. Tropical mahogany neck features 12th fret dovetail joint and ebony fingerboard on top. 17 frets, rock maple dot inlays and 1.875" wide TUSQ nut complete the fingerboard. Hardware is plated in chrome and the scale measures full 25-1/2 inches. The MSRP for this model is set at $2,898.
