416ce-FLTD is a grand symphony model from the Blackwood 400 series mde by Taylor Guitars. The main trait of this series is the use of Tasmanian blackwood for the back and side panels on all models. Tasmanian blackwood belongs to the same family as Hawaiian koa, the acacia family, but is far more affordable. These two share basically the same frame of tonal properties, which gives the guitars made of blackwood almost koa-like quality. In this series, blackwood back and side panels are matched with western red cedar sound boards, which is very finger-picking friedly kind of wood. This ultimately produces well defined tone with strong low end. 416ce-FLTD is a grand symphony guitar with single cutaway design and acoustic-electric construction. Amplification is Taylor`s own, Expression System is installed on this and every other acoustic-electric Taylor. Top panel features rock maple binding, tortoise shell pickguard and rock maple rosette. Bridge section is a standard one, it comes with an ebony bridge with TUSQ saddle and ebony string pins. Neck is made of mahogany, tropical mahogany to be exact, which is Taylor`s number one choice for the neck material. On it`s top, Taylor installs an ebony fingerboard, which features 20 frets, rock maple dot inlays and 1.75" wide TUSQ string nut. Scale measures full 25-1/2" in length and the hardware on this model is plated in chrome. The MSRP is also a standard one, it`s set at $2,898.
