Baritone-8-FLTD/B is a model introduced by Taylor into the Blackwood 400 series for the Fall 2012 Limited Edition issue. It is one of two baritones unveiled this autumn. The other one is placed in Quilted Sapele line. Both of them have 27" scales and grand symphony bodies. Both are acoustic-electric guitars with Taylor`s Expression System installed. Also, both of them have eight strings, which has become Taylor`s specialty in recent issues of Limited Edition. Since this one is in the Balckwood 400 series it comes with blackwood back and sides and western red cedar sound board on top. Top panel is equipped with a regular series treatment, rock maple binding, tortoise shell pickguard and rock maple sound hole rosette. Bridge section is a standard one, as it features a regular ebony bridge with TUSQ saddle and ebony string pins. Neck on this guitar is made of tropical mahogany and it comes with a 14th fret dovetail joint. This is a standard type and place for neck joint for steel-stringed acoustic guitars. It is topped with an ebony fingerboard with 19 frets. Rock maple inlays and 1.75" wide TUSQ nut complete the fingerboard. Tuning machines on the headstock are made by Taylor and are plated in chrome. The MSRP for Baritone-8-FLTD/B is set at $3,098.
