414ce-FLTD is a model from the newly established Balckwood 400 series made by Taylor. This entire series is conceived as part of Fall 2012 Limited Edition range. This traditional seasonal installment brings also the Presentation Series, as well as Quilted Sapele series. Blackwood 400 is seen as an alternative to the standard 400 series adn it utilizes Tasmanian blackwood for body back and side panels. This tone wood is related to koa, as both belong to the acacia family. Same basic tonal properties give blackwood-equipped guitars strong low end. Taylor combines it with western red cedar in this series to make supreme finger-picking guitars. 414ce-FLTD is a grand auditorium model with single-cut body design and acoustic-electric construction. Top panel on this model has received series` standard treatment, which consists of rock maple binding, tortoise shell pickguard and single-circle rock maple rosette. Bridge is made of ebony and it features TUSQ saddle with ebony pins. Electronics department is equipped with Taylor`s own Expression System. Neck is made of tropical mahogany and it sports a standard back contour. Ebony fingerboard has 20 frets, rock maple dot inlays and 1.75" wide TUSQ nut. Scale is standard 25-1/2" long and hardware is plated in chrome. The MSRP for this model is set at $2,898.
