500 series in the 2014 Fall Limiteds range is reserved for the Australian Blackwood, which replaces the mahogany as the main body wood. There are five models in the series lineup, which covers a large portion of the original 500 line. 510e-FLTD is a non-cutaway dread with acoustic-electric construction and standard Taylor design. Back and sides of the body of 510e are made of aforementioned Australian Blackwood with sitka spruce sound board on the top. Ivoroid binding, tortoise shell pickguard and a simple sound hole rosette give this expensive dread a familiar Taylor look. Instead of the natural color of the original series, 510 is set up with a burst color scheme with gloss finish and nickel hardware. Ebony bridge features the standard micarta saddle and a concealed Taylor Expression 2 piezo pickup. The latter is connected to a side-mounted Expression preamp. Tropical mahogany neck with a standard back contour and satin finish in the back is attached to the body at the 14th fret. On it`s top, Taylor installs a standard 20-fret fingerboard made of ebony. Taylor tuners with nickel plating are featured on the headstock in three-a-side arrangement. The MSRP is set at $3,198.
