516e-FLTD is a part of the newly introduced line of Fall 2013 Limiteds. It belongs to the 500 series, the top series within the new Limiteds catalog. This line of limited edition Taylors will be available only this fall. 516 is one of only two models in the series and it features the compact grand symphony body. It features non-cutaway design, despite being an acoustic-electric guitar (Taylor`s acoustic-electrics usually come with single-cut bodies). Nevertheless, the neck is comfortable and since it`s attached with a scarf joint at the standard fourteenth fret, players have an accessible fingerboard with comfortable neck contour in the back. Body of this model is decorated with Indian rosewood binding and a beautiful single-circle rosette. Electronics installed on this model include the new and improved version of Taylor`s iconic Expression system. When combined with mahogany/spruce body and CV bracing, this new Expression system gives even better tone than the previous version. Neck is made of mahogany and it features the standard ebony fingerboard with 20 frets on it`s top. 20 frets, golden inlays and 1.75" wide TUSQ nut complete the fingerboard (bridge is also made of ebony and has a micarta saddle). Gold-plated Gotoh tuners are installed on the headstock. The MSRP for this model is set at $3,598.
