Taylor`s concept of building small series of guitars with exclusive features gained huge amount of attention and popularity within recent years. Thus, Taylor expands on this concept in 2012 by creating Builder`s Reserve Series. These series are envisioned as pairs of two instruments, a guitar and ukulele, or guitar and amp. Either way, Taylor gives some of the best sounding acoustics in the world with these series. Series number eight pairs a guitar and an amp. Guitar comes with a single cut body with acoustic-electric construction. Body`s made of claro walnut back and sides and cedar sound board on top. Construction-wise, body of this model was carefully sculpted to give more comfort to player`s hands and fingers. The main focus during the building process was the wood, as all parts, except the tuning machines and electronics are made of wood. Thus, the binding is made of rosewood and purfling is maple. Rosette rings are made of wood, as well. Bridge is made of ebony, as it is Taylor`s standard. Electronics installed include Taylor Expression system. Neck is made of mahogany and it is attached to the body with a 14th fret dovetail joint. Ebony fingerboard has 20 frets and Nouveau Bouquet inlays. This one is matched with an amp and there`s only thirty pairs made for world-wide distribution.
