Nylon stringers are rare in Taylor`s catalog and whenever they appear, they have exclusive treatment as one of a kind model in the series. Truth be told, there`s two nylon-stringed guitars in Quilted Sapele series and GAce-N-FLTD is one of them. This is a grand auditorium guitar with nylon-strings instead of steel-ones. This concept of placing nylon strings on various steel-string shaped bodies is popular today and many manufacturers practice it. Body of this single-cut acoustic-electric is made of quilted sapele back and sides with European spruce sound board. Quilted sapele has a strong low end and it`s a bit warmer than regular sapele. European spruce is as strong as Adirondack spruce, but it`s tone leans towards the cedar a bit. Top panel is equipped with ivoroid binding and a simple, yet elegant single circle rosette. Bridge section has a standard ebony-made bridge with bone saddle. Due to the classical type of string mounting, there are no string pins. electronics are Taylor`s own, Expression system is installed on this nylon-stringer. Neck is a standard one, it is made of mahogany and attached to the body with a 14th fret dovetail joint. On the other side of the neck, a headstock is attached with a scarf joint. Fingerboard is made of ebony and it comes with a set of 20 frets with solitaires inlays. 1.75" wide bone nut is also found on the fingerboard. Scale of this model measures at 25-1/2 inches. The MSRP is set at $4,298.
