B7 is one of four currently active Washburn banjo models (along with B6, B9, and B10). It is an affordable instrument, made for both the beginners and experienced players. The price tag floats around the $200 mark.
B7 is best used as a backup or practice instrument. It is sturdy, well made and sounds great. Bluegrass is B7`s main orientation, though it sounds great in country, Irish, and many other settings. The color palette is limited to the Natural (gloss finish, chrome hardware, simple styling). Main construction features include a mahogany-made body ring (w/open back), Remo head, mahogany neck, and 22-fret rosewood fingerboard (1.18" string nut, dot inlays).
Other notable features include a traditional maple bridge w/ebony tip (movable bridge) and chrome die-cast tuners.
