Deluxe Koa line from the Washburn`s WD series is the most luxurious one, as it`s models feature back and side panels made of koa wood. Koa is Hawaiian wood and it`s available in small quantities on the market. Add the fantastic tonal properties, and it`s easily understood why is koa treated as a kind of royalty among the tone woods. Back and sides of this non-cutaway dreadnought are made of koa and the top is made of spruce. Abalone is used for both the top binding and a single circle rosette. Bridge is made of standard rosewood. Neck on this model is made of mahogany and it`s attached to the body with a dovetail joint. Fingerboard is made of rosewood and equipped with 20 frets with dot position inlays.
