AFA 1965 is one of four models Alvarez has introduced with the 1965 series. With this series, Alvarez celebrates five full decades in business. The AFA 1965 is a folk/OM-shaped guitar, the only one with this classic contour (a parlor, a regular dread and a slope-shoulder dread comprise the rest of the series). On the other hand, like all other 1965s, this one comes with a non-cutaway body made of acacia back and sides, and spruce sound board. Also, the abalone binding around the top, abalone rosette, and the rosewood bridge with bone saddle are shared with the rest of the series. Mahogany neck with a 21-fret rosewood fingerboard on the top is also common to all 1965 models. Die-cast tuners on the headstock wrap the specs list. The MSRP for this, as well as the other 1965 series models, is set at $749.
