Pioneer is Avalon`s most popular series and is currently made up of four models. Two of them have cedar tops (models with number 1 in their names) and the other two have spruce tops (names begin with number 2). Also, Pioneer is Avalon`s basic line. Pioneer 2-20 is one of the models with spruce top. To complete the body, its back and sides are made of east Indian rosewood. Sycamore binding and abalone rosette are the only decorations on this simply elegant Pioneer. Dreadnought, jumbo, auditorium and small body shapes are available. 2-20`s neck is made of mahogany and it features an ebony fingerboard on top (20 frets, side dot markers). Other important features include a rosewood bridge and gold-plated tuners. Basic price is $4,590 and 2-20 takes 4-6 weeks to be made.
