D1 is a starting dreadnought for Collings catalog and it comes with a full-sized non-cutaway body made of mahogany back and sides with solid spruce top. The body is bound in black binding and it features a back stripe made of walnut. The top is flat and adorned with a triple-circle sound hole rosette. The bridge on this model is made of ebony. It comes with a classic belly shape, black string pins and saddle made of bone. There are no electronics on this dreadnought, as this is a fully acoustic guitar. The neck is made of mahogany and it comes together with the body at the standard 14th fret. The fingerboard is made of ebony, the same as the bridge. It is equipped with 20 frets and dot position inlays. 25-1/2" scale and nickel-plated Waverly tuners complete the specs.
