Who says that things cant change for better after the 60th birthday? Guild Guitars are marching stronger than ever and are rejuvenating the catalog with a ton of new models. The brightest update unveiled at the 2013 NAMM show is the introduction of the Custom Shop division, which contains both the acoustic and electric guitars. Acoustics are represented via the Orpheum series and the electric series is named American Patriarch. Orpheum series has six models and three of them are slope-shoulder dreadnoughts. Slope Shoulder 14-Fret Mahogany Dreadnought is one of them. It comes with a fully hollow non-cutaway body made of solid mahogany back and sides with solid spruce sound board on top. All models in this series are flat-top guitars and this smooth dread is no exception. Bridge section of this model is equipped with a standard belly-contoured ebony bridge with bone saddle on top. Neck is a three-piece and it features mahogany/walnut combination. Dovetail joint and standard acoustic neck contour in the back are featured on this model. 20-fret fingerboard is made of ebony and features dot inlays, 12" radius and 1.80" bone nut. MSRP for this model is set at $4,799.99.
