HG 701 is the name of the basic model from Hofner`s Altamira series of classical acoustic guitars. This model comes with non-cutaway body and dovetail joint for the neck. Body is made of bubinga and cedar, with the arrangement being: bubinga comprises back and side panels, while the cedar is used for the sound board. Sound board on this model is decorated with several layers of binding and classical rosette. Since the natural color of the wood is the only color option for this model, Hofner applies high gloss finish over it. Hardware is plated in nickel on HG 701. Bridge section sports a regular rosewood bridge. Neck is made of mahogany and it`s topped with a rosewood fingerboard. 18 frets with no inlays, 1.75" string nut and flat radius complete the fingerboard. Scale is 21" long.
