Martin J12-40E
Standard Series Acoustic Guitars by Martin
Standard Series Acoustic Guitars by Martin
Jumbos are not as numerous in the Standard series as are dreads, but they certainly comprise a very significant part of the line. One of the best examples of Jumbo body style and jumbo guitar made by Martin is J12-40E, an acoustic-electric guitar with twelve-string construction. This model is made of rosewood, spruce, hardwood and ebony. Rosewood is used only for the body, for the back and side panels, while the spruce is found on top. Spruce is also used for the standard X bracing installed on the inner side of the sound board. Hardwood is used for the sleek and fast neck with V contour. Ebony is used for the belly-contoured neck and 20-fret fingerboard. Tuning machines installed on the headstock are plated in gold.
