Grand concert is one of the basic acoustic guitar shapes, directly derived from the classical guitar. The main difference between these two is the position of the neck joint. Classical guitar features a joint at the 12th, while the grand concert goes with steel string standard 14th fret. GC8 is the top model of the GC series made by Taylor Guitars and it comes with a non-cutaway variant of grand concert body shape. Gloss and satin finishes are combined over the natural color of the body. Taylor tuners installed on the headstock are plated in gold. Rosewood back and side panels are combined with spruce sound board. Ebony bridge on this model is matched with an ebony fingerboard. This 20-fret fingerboard is installed upon a standard neck made of tropical mahogany.
