It`s not a guitar, it`s not a ukulele, it is a guitar and it is a ukulele. It is a guitalele GL1 from Yamaha. This is the first model of the GL series and it is being introduced for the 2013 spring and summer. This model comes with a non-cutaway body made of meranti back and sides with spruce sound board on top. This combo is quite common for Yamaha`s affordable models with both the steel and nylon strings. This particular guitalele is equipped with a set of six nylon strings and 17" scale. Regular 1-7/8" width at the nut makes the neck look a bit fat, but it`s a regular nylon-string neck. It`s made of nato, which is also Yamaha`s standard substitute wood in the budget friendly segment. Bridge and fingerboard are traditionally made of rosewood. Fingerboard is made with 18 frets with only side dot inlays. There are no electronics installed on this guitalele. Classical tuners are featured on the headstock in standard 3+3 arrangement.
