G106 is a six-string variant of the new G100 line introduced at NAMM 2013. Ibanez has made Grooveline in order to give the players of all genres an instrument they won`t have to wrestle with on stage. Perfect balance is the paramount design principle of the series. Joint second place is held by supreme tone quality, masterful build and top quality materials. G106 comes with pretty much same specs as G104 and G105 models. This means that the body is made of three layers of wood, ash on top, alder in the middle and ash once more in the back. Top side features beveled edges, but is flat. Natural with gloss finish is the only color scheme available for this model. Bridge is a Tight End with six saddles and cosmo black paint over it. Ibanez single coil pickups are featured in both the bridge and middle positions. Neck is made of five pieces of wenge and bubinga, which only adds to the richness and smoothness of the tone. Grooveline contour in the back makes it super easy to perform all kinds of slides, despite the 2.12" width at the nut. On top Ibanez installs a standard 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with no inlays.
