Alex Skolnick is not only a metal master, but also an avid jazz player. Testament`s axe man is, quite probably, one of the most complete guitar-wielders out there. His love of ESP guitars and Seymour Duncan pickups (especially, their passive range) is known far and wide, but it wasn`t until only recently that this love came to fruition. Here`s Alex Skolnick FR FM, an exclusive Eclipse-shaped metal machine. It was introduced at this year`s NAMM Show along with the other Alex Skolnick models, as well as the rest of the 2016 ESP catalog. Alex Skolnick FR FM is a traditional Eclipse guitar, with a standard single-cut body contour and a set-thru neck with a fast contour. The body is made of mahogany back and a two-piece flamed maple top (top is bound in white and comes without a pickguard). The neck is made of three pieces of maple and has a bound rosewood fingerboard on top (12" radius, 1.77" locking nut, abalone block inlays with a custom AS inlay at the 12th fret). Seymour Duncan AS Signature pickups are installed in both the bridge and neck positions, guaranteeing the authentic Alex Skolnick tone many a metalheads hold in such a high esteem. Two volume pots, master tone with a push/pull switch and a three-way toggle switch comprise the controls. Floyd Rose bridge and Grover tuners complete the specs list of this ultra-exclusive Eclipse. The price tag is set well above $5,000.
