Custom Collection from Fender`s Custom Shop is always a treat for Fender fans, as it always brings exquisite vintage-styled guitars. This time around, for 2013 issue of the catalog, Fender`s Custom Shop brings ten novelties. One of them is this awesome and historically accurate 1956 Relic Stratocaster. This Strat comes with a solid, double-cut body with 1956 contours. It is made of lightweight ash and it is paired with a maple neck. Both body and neck have been treated with Relic ageing process, which, when combined with Custom Shop '50s Fat Strat pickups, gives that classy '50s tone. Body features no top wood covers or binding. It is only covered with a gold-anodized pickguard. Bridge section is a classic one, it features a 2-point synchronized tremolo bridge with string-through construction. Bridge is plated in gold, as is the rest of the hardware on this exceptional relic model. This Strat has three single-coil pickups, all coming from the Custom Shop`s '50s Fat Strat series. Standard set of knobs and a five-position blade switch comprise the controls. Maple neck has the vintage-styled V contour and it`s topped with a 21-fret maple fingerboard.
