The first ones to sport humbuckers were then-current (1957) Les Paul Goldtop and Les Paul Custom (Custom was even offered with three humbuckers). True Historic 1957 Les Paul Goldtop Reissue comes in at affordable (for Gibson Custom`s current standards) $6,899 and offers only one color option - Vintage Antique Gold w/natural back and black headstock veneer. The finish is True Historic nitrocellulose (wet-sanded w/thin lacquer). Aged creme binding is found around the top and neck. Main features include non-chambered mahogany body (one-piece, lightweight), double-carved maple top, double-carved mahogany neck (`57 profile), one-piece Indian rosewood fingerboard, AlNiCo III Custom Bucker pickups and nickel hardware.
