2015 brings a whole bunch of new models into the Gibson USA catalog and 2015 Derek Trucks SG is one of them. It comes improved, overhauled and ready to rock. Hard. Solid and double-cut body is made of ultra low density mahogany (the lowest density pieces of mahogany go onto this model), it`s flat on both the top and in the back. Vintage Red Stain is the only version available. It`s finished in gloss and has chrome-plated hardware. Derek Trucks signature SG has always been a down-to-earth six stringer made for players who like it hot, straightforward and vintage-styled. Regular Tune-o-matic/stoptail combo is featured in the bridge section, while the 57 Classic humbuckers with chrome-plated covers sit in the front. Two volume knobs, two tone knobs and a three-way toggle pickup switch comprise the controls. Set in mahogany neck sports classic slim taper contour int he back and a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard on the top. Vintage-styled Keystone tuners are installed in 3+3 arrangement on the classic headstock. The MSRP for this master-piece six-stringer is set at the hefty $2,399.
