SG is, after the Les Paul, the most popular electric guitar made by Gibson and is thus being included into the super exclusive 120 series. This line is made up of limited edition models and is being introduced into the 2014 catalog to celebrate 120 years in guitar business. SG 120 Standard is almost identical to the regular SG Standard, but does feature some distinctions, such as the famous Holly inlay on the headstock and the 120th anniversary inlay at the 12th fret. Solid, flat and double-cut body of this SG is made of two pieces of grade A mahogany. It`s simple and classic in design and in construction, as well. The only color scheme is Heritage Cherry and it`s finished in gloss lacquer. Traditional two-piece bridge system (tune-o-matic bridge/stoptail bar) is fronted with a super popular pair of pickups: 498T in the bridge and 490R in the neck position. They`re controlled through a standard set of knobs and switches: two volume knobs, two tone knobs and a three-way toggle pickup switch. Mahogany neck is fast, comfy and very player-friendly. It`s made of mahogany and it`s features a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard on top. Vintage-styled tuners wrap the specs list. The MSRP for this mighty SG is set at $1,899.
