Despite his young age (only 35 years old), Derek Trucks is one of the most popular and most prolific signature artists under the Gibson flag. His signature series is being regularly updated and refreshed with new models and variants. The latest one is introduced along with other 2014 novelties. 2014 SG Derek Trucks is the official name of the new Derek Trucks signature guitar. Once more, the classic SG construction and design and classic Gibson pickups are combined to create the vintage-styled six-string magic. Solid and double-cut body of the new Derek Trucks signature guitar is made of mahogany. Instead of a wide color palette, this humble vintage-styled six-stringer is available only in Vintage Red with gloss finish. Bridge unit is a classic two-piece with added trapezoid tailpiece with Gibson logo engraved on it. Pickups combo includes a pair of `57 Classic humbuckers which recreate Derek`s tone with utmost fidelity. Two volume knobs, two tone knobs and a three-way toggle pickup switch form the simple controls unit. Mahogany neck is set in and features a bound 22-fret fingerboard made of rosewood on it`s top. Vintage-styled TonePros tuners are installed on the headstock. The MSRP for the new Derek Trucks signature SG is set at $2,069.
