What we have here is the newest in line of B.B. King`s signature Lucille models. It is made and sold under the Gibson Memphis banner and is the perfect six-stringer for the players looking to get the authentic B.B. tone. This 65th Birthday edition of Lucille has quite a sophisticated look and equally high-end tone. It comes with a semi-hollow body made of basswood and maple. Both the back and top are made of this interesting combo (maple and basswood give a magnificently balanced tone with just right amount of grease and punch to satisfy even the greatest B.B. King buffs). Nitrocellulose-finished Ebony color scheme is accompanied by creme binding around the body, pickguard, neck and headstock. Golden hardware is also there. Classic TP-6 tailpiece and the tune-o-matic bridge comprise the bridge unit. Gibson`s 490T is in the bridge, while the 490R is in the neck. These two are accompanied by two volume knobs, two tone knobs, one varitone rotary switch and the classic three-way toggle pickup switch. Set in mahogany/maple neck on this anniversary Lucille is topped with a 22-fret richlite fingerboard. The MSRP is set at $3,799.
