SG and Les Paul lines of Gibson USA catalog are being overhauled for 2013. That is the year of Les Paul and Gibson has dedicated four new models from both series to work and innovations of Les Paul. Each model is dedicated to one of the decades and it`s equipped with features which best represent that period. SG '60s Tribute is dedicated to 1960s and the earliest SG models. It comes with PAF-styled pair of humbucker pickups and period correct neck contour. Pickups are Burstbuckers and they are controlled through a classic setup of separate volume and tone knobs with a three-way toggle pickup switch. Neck is made of mahogany and it`s equipped with '60s slim taper contour in the back. The neck is set and topped with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard. 12" radius, figured acrylic trapezoid inlays and 1.55" wide corian nut complete the fingerboard. Body of this model is thin and equipped with a double cutaway. It is made of mahogany in it`s entirety. Top is flat with beveled edges. Binding and pickguard are removed from the picture for the sake of minimalist styling of this model. MSRP is set at $1,499.
