SG nad Les Paul series are being expanded with four Tribute models, each. These new guitars are made in tribute to Les Paul, his work and legacy. '50s Tribute, '60s Tribute. '70s Tribute and Future Tribute are the names of these models and they all come with tone similar to the period they celebrate. In order to achieve the thick and raw sound of the '70s hard rock and heavy metal, Gibson chose their own Dirty Fingers humbuckers for '70s Tribute models. These open coil pickups are controlled with separate volume and tone knobs and three-way toggle pickup switch. Neck is made with period-correct mid '70s contour in the back. It is a mahogany neck with set-in joint and rosewood fingerboard on top. Fingerboard is made of rosewood and it features a standard set of 24 medium jumbo frets with figured acrylic trapezoid inlays. 12" radius and 1.55" corian nut complete the fingerboard. Body of this model is made of mahogany, it`s thin, flat and has beveled edges. This double-cut comes in three color options: Ebony, Vintage Sunburst and Cherry. All are finished in gloss. Tuners on the headstock are made and supplied by Grover.
